Vineyards located in Nou de Gaià, municipality of Tarragonès, about 4 km in a straight line to the Mediterranean Sea.

The sea breeze, called Marinada, which in the summer months starts blowing around ten in the morning, protects us from excesses of heat. It allows a magnificent and constant ripening of the grapes, avoiding overripening.

The soils are generally sandy loam with low fertility.

Blend: 55% Grenache black, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Ull de Llebre.

Once the grapes are harvested, they are destemmed and stored in stainless steel tanks to begin maceration for about 12 days at a temperature of between 22 and 24ºC.

Once the maceration is finished, the grapes are pressed, separating the low pressure wine from the high pressure wine. This low pressure wine is used to make the Negre de Guarda wine.

The wine remains in French oak barrels for 12 months. Once these months have passed, the barrels are emptied making the defined blend and the wine is bottled.

It evokes the smell of forest fruits and jams (blackberry, blueberry, cherry) on a background of vanilla, toffee, nuts and spices. The step through barrel is present.

On the palate it has good structure, it is opulent, aged and has a good structure. Spicy nuances appear (vanilla, cinnamon) with ripe tannins that bring a pleasant sense of balance and a smooth mouthfeel.

It is an elegant and complex wine where the freshness of the fruit surprises in the aftertaste. We recommend serving slightly cold.
